Dear Greece, YOU BETTER WIN!!!!

Dear Denmark and Georgia,
In normal circumstances I would never send you a picture as blatant as this. However, we are far from normal circumstances. You see, Greece are the European Champions and well, you're not. Greece is the team that I purchased World Cup tickets to see and you are not. Basically, Greece is going to win today and Wednesday and YOU are not. For today, and at least until South Africa in 2010 the above picture is all I have to say to you. So there it is. See you on the pitch.

On a happier note, England has now qualified automatically, even if they don't beat Poland on Wednesday. Man did we pull that one out of our backside.

for those of you who don't know, i am a bit obsessed with becks. i have heard all the arguments: Rooney will be better; Ronaldinho is better; Zidane is the greatest footballer. but i don't buy it.
becks is my man.

I may have already said this to you ... but Beckham could be the best right winger in world, if he could abandon this obsession with being more than he is. Earlier in his career he was convinced he was a goal scorer--far too often, from both open play and on free kicks, he tried to loop an incredible ball forty yards and past the goalkeeper, when simply going for one of those magical crosses where the ball just leaps from his boot would have been guaranteed to meet the head of Dwight Yorke or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Nowadays he's become obsessed with what's being called the "quarterback role" in central midfield, where supposedly all attacking play gets funneled through him on its way upfield. But that was what was responsible for the debacle against Northern Ireland last month. You cross the ball better than anyone else in the world, David, and you're probably the most iconic footballer since Pele. That should be enough.

em watch the england match? where becks stood back to let lampard be the designated penalty taker? soemthing to do with the multiple ones he missed. then they proceeded to play one of the most boring football matches ive watched in recent memory. only to be followed by an irish match in which the cypriots were robbed
sorry bout greece.
